Welcome to Moondog Treasures: yoga jewelry for women and men, mala bracelets, Sanskrit mantra necklaces, and wire-wrapped beaded crosses. I'm a yoga teacher, and these are my creations. On this blog you can read the story behind the jewelry. You'll also get to meet other talented Etsy artists whose work I admire. Contact me at moondogtreasures@live.com.

World-Wide Global Mala Event

For the month of September, I'd like to donate 50% of all sales of mala bracelets from my store to the charities of the Global Mala, an incredible yoga event that will be going on across the world on the weekend of September 19th and 20th. Click on the picture below to see more jewelry from my store or to purchase a mala bracelet.

On September 19 and 20, the Global Mala Yoga for Peace Project, whose purpose is to unite the global yoga community, will implement events throughout the world in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace. Forming a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108, the mission of the Global Mala Project is to raise both funds and consciousness for some of the most pressing issues facing the world today. Global Mala Yoga for Peace is a featured event during National Yoga Month 09.2009. The studio where I work, Yoga Island, will be hosting a global mala event on Saturday, 9/19 at 10:30 a.m.

I 've gone to California many times to study yoga with my teacher, Shiva Rea, the coordinator of this event, (photos are all throughout this blog - scroll down). This event is very close to my heart.
